Share the Love This Valentines

Why stop at cheesy relics for the ones in your life…share the love this Valentines by performing random acts of kindness.  There’s no better DAY to reinvent your self with loving gestures.  Here are some suggestions of easy ways for you to show you care:

  • Give hugs.
  • Donate used items to those in need (for instance: books, toys, food, care supplies).
  • Return a shopping cart sitting in a vacant parking space.
  • Pick up trash.
  • Give compliments to everyone.
  • Say thank you.
  • Leave a generous tip.
  • Share inspirational quotes or sayings online: on your FB page or by tweets or by email.
  • Share inspirational quotes or sayings by text.
  • Be extra considerate-open the door for someone, let someone have your seat, share your snack with a friend, if someone behind you has less groceries-then let them go in front of you, offer to return a cart to store for someone who’s finishing loading their vehicle, forgive accidents.
  • Drop valentines off at a retirement home.
  • Motivate with home-made sweets or crafts.
  • Give positive comments to the blog writers, magazines, friends, etc. that are such an inspiration to you in your daily life.
  • Leave change by candy and vending machines.
  • Be a good neighbor-say hello, wish them “happy valentines” and hand them a gift basket of cookies, or homemade chocolates, etc.
  • Listen to what others are truly saying.
  • Bring flowers to share with everyone in your office, building or home.
  • Remember past loved ones with plants sent to their ‘site of rest’ or an honorary candle in your home, etc.
  • Use reusable shopping bags.

  • Buy a coffee for the one behind you.
  • Write a letter to someone who has inspired you.
  • Plant a tree.
  • Make someone laugh.
  • Start a reinvention of Valentines Day campaign-make it really a day of love vs. relics.
  • Pass it on: think back on how you have been shown kindness in a down time and pass it on.
  • Make your own random acts of kindness t-shirt: promote the spirit of your day/love.
  • Help those who you can that need it.
  • Tell everyone “hello” and wish them a good day.
  • Volunteer (for instance to: read to kids, help at animal shelters, soup kitchens, helping shut-ins, cleaning up water resources and land, and so on).
  • Say thank you to everyone, including your service providers (for instance: postal workers, firemen, police officers, teachers, security guards, volunteers, etc.).
  • Befriend someone new.
  • Work on your previous friendships.
  • Forgive someone and offer a gesture of friendship or kindness.
  • Gift your smile.
  • Encourage a friend having a bad streak and/or offer a token of kindness (for instance: someone in and out of hospital, cook them a meal).
  • Make inspiring notes to leave in random places (for instance: library books, shopping carts, window seals, car windshields).
  • Hand out home-made valentines to strangers or balloons or your own mixed cd’s of love songs and of course, hugs.
